Inflamed Ankle- Help!
Hello,
This skin on the back of my hands is extremely inflamed and itchy. I have tried a few different creams, however I’m yet to find any relief. This problem has been ongoing for about three months now. What can you recommend I try next?
Thank you.
How do I reduce or remove dark spots on my skin ?
I have recently had an actinic keratosis removed and am now desperately want to get my skin protection right…any advice please?
What is the best treatment for sunburn?
How does your pore get blackheads
For 4 weeks now the skin on the back of my hands, fingers, tops of my feet, ankles, legs, backs of my thighs & tummy have been itchy. I’ve been to my GP 5 times in 3 weeks, and next week (if it hasn’t cleared, which I doubt it will) he will refer me to a skin specialist.
I’ve been given Celestone cream and have also used Sorbolene cream to stop it, but that doesn’t seem to last more than a few hours. I’ve started using ‘Dove’ soap, but the itchiness never goes for more than a day.
I’m 51 years old. I haven’t changed the brands of soaps/ detergents that I use, have no allergies and have never had a skin rash like this before.
What else can I try to stop this itchiness?
Thanks- Julian
Hi Julian. Your itchiness sounds super frustrating, I hope you are getting on top of it. We could recommend soaking in Pinetarsol Bath Oil to help manage your symptoms. It disperses nicely in the bath and relieves the itch. You could also try the Pinetarsol Gel ongoing in the shower. I can’t stress enough that you need to keep speaking with your health care professionals about this and if your current GP advice is not satisfying you, maybe try a second opinion.
Take care, Ego Skin Expert.
