Propylene glycol is widely used in skincare products as a humectant (attracts and absorbs water into the skin) as well as being used as as a solvent, a fragrance component, and to adjust the viscosity of a product. There are no safety concerns for the use of propylene glycol during pregnancy. The ingredient, however, has been associated with irritant and allergic dermatitis, which is why we do not use it in any of our products (QV range) specifically formulated for sensitive skin.
