Top tips on how to improve acne

Tip 1

Keep your skincare routine as simple as possible and follow it religiously.

Tip 2

Use a quality, gentle, soap-free facial cleanser twice daily. Avoid using drying and harsh cleansers; many cleansing brushes and scrubs can also make matters worse as they can aggravate active pimples. Consider the Azclear Action Foaming Wash. It is a gentle foaming, fragrance-free solution effective for controlling pimples and acne. It is a gentle cleanser that removes dirt and washes away excess oil, and leaves skin feeling clean and refreshed. The moisturising base also leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth, without drying.

Tip 3

Twice daily, use a product with azelaic acid to diminish the appearance of redness and inflammation, reduce the growth of bacteria in the follicle, and return the disordered growth of the skin cells lining the follicle to normal. Ask your pharmacist whether a product with azelaic acid might be suitable for your skin. Azelaic acid will help to diminish the appearance of redness, gently exfoliate the skin’s surface and improve skin texture, and improve oil flow inside the pore.

Tip 4

Try Azclear Action Medicated Lotion*, an oil-free, invisible finish, antibacterial lotion for the treatment of blackheads, pimples, acne and papulopustular rosacea. The dual-action formula works by fighting bacteria and unblocking the oil ducts, which acts to reduce redness and dry up pimples. The added moisturiser helps hydrate skin, while the antibacterial agent helps fight bacteria.

Tip 5

Avoid using thick moisturisers in areas where acne occurs as they can clog pores. Use lighter options such as gels, serums or lotions instead. Some options include QV Face Oil Free Moisturiser and QV Face Rescue Gel.
