Sneaky Skin Treatment Tips for Busy Mums

Posted on : 31.08.2017

The end of the school term is a stressful time for many of us. The kids are about to go on school holidays and you’re trying to juggle work, child care and schedule in parties, family events and various activities for your little ones. That doesn’t mean you can’t take time for yourself though, here’s a few skin treatment tips to squeeze in a little day-to-day pampering. A few clever little short cuts here and there can help look after your skin the year draws to a close, and help you feel like a million bucks.

1. Use multi-purpose skin care!

Top sneaky skin treatment tip – did you know that many beauty and skincare products can have multiple uses? You can get twice the pampering in half the time if you choose your products wisely! In the shower you can double up your conditioner as a shaving cream or gel. Use it as a deep conditioning treatment on your hair by letting it soak into your strands while using the excess to remove stubble from your legs (if you so choose).

Cleansing face wipes are a great multitask product as well. You can use them for the obvious – to quickly remove your makeup at the end of the day, but they’re also good to keep with you on the go, to clean dirty hands or kids’ faces, or even to wipe over your phone or a quick make up brush clean. All these things mean a little bit more time for you later.

We recommend: QV Face Cleansing Wipes and QV Hair Nourishing Conditioner

2. Work While You Sleep

You don’t need to spend hours getting a pedicure to help keep your feet in tiptop condition. Let your skin care products do the work for you while you sleep and treat yourself while slumbering. Slather your feet with your favourite moisturiser or heel balm, slip on some socks, and turn out the lights. Let the skin treatment do the work for you while you sleep, repeat regularly to wake up to softer looking feet!

We recommend: QV Heel Balm

3. Get the Kids Involved

Now this one might depend on the skill level of your little one, but if you’re confident in their artistic abilities (and their steady hand) then you might just be able to get away with turning arts and crafts time into pedicure time. Let the little ones pick out your colour and set them to work on your toe nails. You never know, you might just have the next big nail-art sensation in your own home! Nothing to do with skin I know, but you’ll have so much fun with your kids and happiness radiates outwards. And don’t worry; everyone is going to love your bright sparkling themed nails.

4. Combine and Reduce Steps

When you are going to be out and about during the day, but don’t need make-up, look for face moisturising products that helps provide UVA & UVB protection, and has a matte finish or slight tint. This way you can moisturise and help protect your skin from the sun in one quick step and feel confident that you’re not shiny or ghostly looking.

We recommend: SunSense Daily Face

As you can see, you don’t need to take a whole day to relax. Pampering yourself and getting those little treat yourself moments just needs some out of the box thinking! Try taking a little “me” time every morning when you get ready and combine tasks whenever possible.
